Introduction:
Petra Wonder of the World is one of the oldest cities in the world, lies in Jorden, and is estimated to be older than 2000 years. It is also named Rose City, and the reason for such a name is due to the color of the red mountains. The Nabateans established it in 312 BC. By the 2nd century AD, Petra would be abundant due to power shifts to other areas and changes in trade routes. However, their archaeological remains in Petra and other areas of the kingdom are still very impressive due to the advanced technologies used in them. In 1812, Johann Ludwig Burckhardt (a Swiss explorer) discovered it again.

Areas to visit in Petra:
Following are the areas you must visit in Petra.
1. The Treasury (Al Khazneh):
The Treasury is not a treasury, and the purpose for which it was built is still mysterious. It is believed that the Treasury was built in the 1st century BC, and it is assumed that it was constructed in memory of royalty. It consists of two floors, and today, approximately three to four years are required for such construction. Modern engineers are also surprised by construction materials’ sustainability. No one is allowed to enter The Treasury due to the rare ancient place, as there is a risk of decreasing the life of that place by touching and movement of persons.
2. The Monastery (Ad Deir):
The monastery is less famous than the Treasury. About 800 ascending steps are required to reach the monastery; during ascending, you can see the Lion Tomb and the Wadi Kharrubeh. The monastery is believed to serve multiple purposes, including funerary, religious, and residency functions.
3. The Siq:
The Siq is a pathway, and it is Petra’s main entrance. On both sides, there are gigantic structures, and it gives a dramatic view. The Siq is about 1.2 kilometers long. As you pass through The Siq, you can see The Treasury (Al Khazneh).
